How do I receive a massage?

These are 10  helpful tips on how to receive massage, compiled by the American Massage Therapy Association.

  1. Be as receptive and open to the massage process as possible
  2. Don’t eat just before a massage session. Let your body digest your meal first.
  3. Be on time. If you arrive in a frenzied, rushed state, it may take you longer to relax.
  4. Take off only as much clothing as you are comfortable with.
  5. Communicate with your massage therapist. Let him/her know any health or areas of concern.
  6. Remember to breathe normally. Breathing helps facilitate relaxation.
  7. Relax your muscles and your mind.
  8. Drink extra water before and after your massage.
  9. Don’t get up too quickly, and do allow for some open quiet time after your massage session.
  10. Be prepared to schedule several massage sessions. Massage has it’s greatest benefits over time.

 

How much does massage cost?

Our session fees are adjusted by time in the following increments:

  • $ 55 – 30 Minutes
  • $ 90 – 60 Minutes
  • $ 130 – 90 Minutes

We also offer Pregnancy Massage:

  • $ 115 – 75 Minutes

 

What type of massage do you do?

Our massage therapists are trained in all modalities of massage, including but not limited to sports massage, Swedish massage, rejuvenating massage, deep tissue, and reflexology. When making your appointment, please let us know what areas of concern you have, so we can pair you with the best therapist for your needs.

 

Do you have male or female massage therapists?

Most of our therapists are female, and all of our therapists are trained professionals, respectful of all genders.

 

Do I have to take all of my clothes off?

You are allowed privacy to undress at your own comfort level and get into the massage bed. You will remain covered on all areas aside from the area currently being worked on.

 

Will my clothes get oily?

We use high-quality massage oils during massage, so be prepared with a change of clothes if you have a concern about oil transferring from your skin after your massage.

 

What if I have health concerns?

First and foremost, we care about your health. We require permission from your doctor if you have health concerns or are currently undergoing treatment that is part of a major medical concern or symptom. (i.e. broken bones, cancer therapy, onset of illness such as cold or flu, etc.)

What are your hours?

We are open by appointment only, and available to work mornings, during the day, evenings, and also weekends. We are also able to give massage during holiday seasons, please give us a call to reserve the time that is best for you.

 

Do you do outcalls?

Yes we do! Our massage rates will be adjusted up or down, according to the distance travelled or number of people within your group. Please call for a custom quote for outcall massage.

 

Do you do group massage?

We are capable of accommodating up to three people in-office, and larger groups upon request. Please call to let us know how many will be in your party so we can provide a custom quote.

 

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes we do!

 

How should I pay you?

We gladly accept cash, ALL credit cards, and local checks.

 

Is there parking?

We have our own parking lot with ample parking space. This lot is conveniently accessible by driving between the bank and Panino’s. This is a ground-level lot, with no stairs up to the office, so is perfect for wheelchair access if needed.

 

What about pets?

We are pet friendly and are also available to give “Buddy Massages”. Please call for a custom quote.

 

What about kids?

Massage is great for kids and we are able to work on children of all ages.

 

Do you have a restroom?

Yes! Even in the heart of Los Olivos, we have our own private bathroom.

 

 

How often do I need massage?

Massage as a healing modality helps facilitate healthy circulatory systems in our entire bodies, not just our muscular structure. Massage helps flush toxins, our lymphatic and circulatory systems. Because of these health benefits, we recommend receiving massage 1x per month for general maintenance.

For optimal health and healing of symptoms, we recommend 1x per week.
